{"id":446,"date":"2009-06-10T18:12:30","date_gmt":"2009-06-10T18:12:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.reactivated.net\/weblog\/?p=446"},"modified":"2009-06-10T18:12:30","modified_gmt":"2009-06-10T18:12:30","slug":"olpc-uk-pilot-planning-underway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.reactivated.net\/weblog\/archives\/2009\/06\/olpc-uk-pilot-planning-underway\/","title":{"rendered":"OLPC UK Pilot planning underway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A while ago, I created an <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.laptop.org\/go\/OLPC_UK\">OLPC UK page<\/a> on the OLPC wiki, and a <a href=\"http:\/\/lists.laptop.org\/listinfo\/olpc-uk\">mailing list<\/a> alongside it with the hope of linking together the various people who were interested in organising various kinds of UK-based One Laptop per Child activities.<\/p>\n<p>These small efforts have proven fruitful; a number of people from various backgrounds have teamed up and are organising a <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.laptop.org\/go\/OLPC_UK\/Pilots\/London\">pilot programme<\/a> for deploying a small number of XO laptops in a UK school.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m back in the UK for a little while and am excited to get involved where I can.<\/p>\n<p>Their next meeting is June 17th in central London.  I will be giving a presentation about my experiences with OLPC to date. <a href=\"http:\/\/lists.laptop.org\/pipermail\/olpc-uk\/2009-June\/000155.html\">More details here<\/a> (RSVP requested).
