I'm a newcomer to Linux and brought my DPC-R1 with me from Windows.

I'm using PCLINUXOS w/ the 2.6.16.27 kernel.

Can you tell me in layman's terms how to go about getting this xd card reader recognized and installed, or point me to the information?

Thanks for any help...

I have recently purchased SUSE Linux 10.0, but I have not yet installed it. On the box, it says that its kernel version is 2.6.13. Could I obtain a working driver for this kernel version? If you don't have one, would it be possible for me to recompile the source? Or would it be possible to just use the "insmod -f" command (Hopefully, you are not using symbol versioning!)?

I would also like to know if it would be possible to backport this driver to Kernel Version 2.4.21; that is the one supplied with SUSE 9.0 Professional. This is the distro that I am using on my older machines (i.e., Pentium MMX).

Thanks in advance! ;-)
