[fprint] failed to get it working on the Sony UX1X

I am still having this problem; can anyone help? or at least explain what an error -71 is?

some more error info when i run:

pam_fprint_enroll --enroll-finger 1

This program will enroll your finger, unconditionally overwriting any
selected print that was enrolled previously. If you want to continue,
press enter, otherwise hit Ctrl+C
